Sustainability is a central element in IGB's corporate strategy. For this reason, it offers solutions to the challenges posed by climate change while respecting biodiversity and in line with sustainable development objectives.
In order to obtain the continuous improvement of environmental performance, manage and reduce the impact of company activities on the surrounding environment, they undertake to comply with the environmental laws in force at all administrative levels and in all production sectors.
For this purpose, IGB has always been committed to allocating adequate human and financial resources to the full implementation and dissemination of this policy as well as to the achievement of the environmental objectives and programs necessary to apply it.
The IGB plants formally undertake to prevent pollution and protect the environment through:
- the systematic assessment of the impact on the environment of each activity carried out inside, also to avoid and / or manage emergency situations
- the consideration from the environmental point of view of all processes.
- maintaining the ISO 14001 environmental certification system
IGB's research and development department is constantly oriented towards the study of new paper products that can reduce or eliminate the use of plastic or energy in the packaging industry.
Furthermore, IGB hold themselves responsible for the correct disposal of waste and its suitable destination; any polluting emissions into the atmosphere, soil and water will be controlled and possibly reduced.
IGB pays attention to the origin of the materials used in its processes. For this reason, it is FSC certified and promotes the use of FSC certified materials among its customers.
IGB also promotes sustainable procurement policies and also requires the organizations that collaborate with IGB to purchase products and services only when actually necessary and that they have the minimum impact on the environment and the community.
